replaced knock sensor but code is still there? why!

replaced knock sensor but code is still there? why!

i just repalced my knock sensor but when i checked my car for codes, i still have the knock sesnor code....why????

Did you clear the ECU codes after replacement?

if i remember right i did.....but if i dint....wouldnt the code automatically go away cuz the computer recognizes that i have a good KS

The ECU may eventually clear the code - but not immeidately - only after your drive a certain number of miles/etc. Go ahead and clear the codes, make sure its not posted.... drive around and check for the code again.

yea ill clear the codes and hopefully it wont come back.....i know my KS should be good cuz i felt the power back after i replaced it.....

Clear it again and see what's up. Did you replace the harness as well? The faulty part could have been the harness....

i'd clear it (again), drive around some more, check for codes. if it's still there, then maybe you didn't tighten it within spec or the harness would be faulty. i haven't heard of too many people that needed a new harness though, people mention it, but i've never seen one person who has actually needed it.

If you didn't already, also try sanding the grounding points; knock sensors like clean connections.
