My auto sucks a nut

I hate this ****ing transmission. I went up against a V6 Mustang tonight from a roll. Well, turns out he beat me. You know why? My transmission didn't do what it normally does when I punch it. It stalled for 2-3 seconds, and didn't give me the full power(until it finally kicked in) when I usually punch it. I hate this **** box. Oh yeah, MobileTek, GO **** YOURSELF! I probably wouldn't have this transmission problem if it weren't for these **** ups.

What can be the problem? Should I take it to the dealership or my mechanic?

30mph. Thing is, I'd punch it before from a 30mph roll, and I'd hit 6300rpms in no time. I did later on in the night when I was messing around with Honda's and such. It's times like these when I wish I had my VB mod. It's a slush box.

manually downshift before you start racing, if your at like 30, go into 1st, if 40+ go 2nd( try to go from like 20mph and in 1st because thats where 1st has a lot of power) if its 40+ try to start from 50 mph in 2nd because thats where 2nd has lots of power.

When you downshift give it gas so its less stress on everything, i mean, kinda like engine braking you know?

Damn that sucks, v6 mustank I had a guy in a Auto 2000 mustank V6 he swore up and down that he could beat me. I was like come on man are you serious I'll walk on you man. He insisted on racing me and bet me $20 that he'll win damn thats gas in my tank and some. At that time I only had exhaust and intake. So I raced him Manually shifting of course don't know what he was doing but from a dead start I ate him off the line he creeped up through second at my rear bumper as I was going into 3rd I was about 2 car lengths in front we raced twice just to make sure but nope $20 for me I was happy that was my first race that involved money.

The reason for the delay is that full line pressure wasn't built up enough for the transmission to shift. For instance, when the transmission shifts from 1 to 2 and then you hit it almost immediatly after it shifts.. it "bogs" down until the transmission has built up enough pressure to shift.

defintately never donwshift into first going above 5-10 mph. very bad...you'll feel a nice bang and you would lose a bit more than a race.

would a DR mod work good in this situation, just wondering, but it seems if you wired it to a toggle inside the car, flip it during the roll, then boom... or am i completely wrong?

Manually downshifting is not bad for it. Also, "holding" the gear is not good either. The TCM is calibrated to shift at the optimal point for peak power during WOT. If it were harmful, the engineers wouldn't even give you the ability. The TCM protects the tranny from potentially harmful manual downshifts. Hel!, you can throw the gear selector is 1st at 100MPH and nothing bad will happen. You should have been in first. If that were true you would have whomped on him.

Disconnecting the DR in this situation wouldn't really do much. Even with it disconnected it can sometimes still lag on the downshift.

Or if u really want to screw things up go into neutral, punch the gas, and then slam it back into Drive or if your really crazy, into first.
I would hate to see someone beating on a automatic maxima like that, they are really nice. I have a 5 speed 97 GXE, and i sometimes wished it was automatic. its very smoothe. BTW, i got tore up by a dodge neon SRT today, that **** was fast boy. he was behind me at the light and after we both made a left turn, then i heard him, I was already in second gear, and i punched it, but he passed me pretty badly. of course he had some of his momentum on me by the time i had to react. I am all stock, just a K&N air filter, rims, and a DVD. So dont feel to badly for loosing against a V6 mustang.

usually the mustang is the one that does nothing when u jam on the gas pedal

my friend has an autotragic v6 stang 2k1, and i drove it once when he got locked up so i could get him out of jail

raced it a few times too and noticed that it holds back a lot

you should def. give one a good race from a roll since they wont get as much benefit from their extra tourque and RWD

You sure it wasn't 2005 V8 mustang? 305 hp stock, seems decent.

Umm, I think I'd notice if it was a newer Mustang.

My Transmission has done this a few times. It's when I punch it a little to get the drivers attention, let off the gas, and punch it. Later on that night, I was punching it like I did on this guy, and I got totally different results, like a kick back in my seat. Could it be anything else then the line pressure or the KS?

If this wouldn't have happend, I would of had the guy easily.

the DR doesnt help in this situation, I have mine setup on a wot switch and it still hangs a good 2-3 seconds befor downshifting if im at the right speed.

Our autos have a slight delay.. and? They werent meant to be used at WOT all the time for racing.
