Gasoline Post

I looked at the 6th generation post and they seemed very interested in putting regular or mid-grade gasoline into their Maxima's. Any thoughts guys.

Let them, they're going to find they get the same results at using hi-octane.

But remind me again, exactly what is your question?

What we thought about what? They're using mid-grade gas... big deal.

I'm just getting sick of these dumbass questions.

"They're not putting hi-octane in their car... comment."
"Should I get blue LEDs or buy an M5?"
"Where is the cheapest place to buy 168 Wedge bulbs?"
"I have $38.42, what can I get to make my car go faster?"

Make up your own mind, buy what you want, let them use whatever gas they want, read the FAQ/stickies/past few pages of threads... 75% of the questions posted are answered in one of those places, but no, Mr 17 posts and Mr 45 posts think they have a question nobody has ever asked before!!

Trust me, you haven't been around here long enough to have a question that hasn't already been answered.

Thanks for the pep talk. If the Org forum wasnt here there would be no place for questions dumb or interesting. Hey, if you are tired of the questions, why dont you sign off and call it a night.

why dont you read your car owners manual and see what they ask you to put into the tank....91+ octane. 2k2kev is right, that's an idiot question, and some people are tired of asking people who are new to the forum to read their owners manual and frequently asked questions. you can run wahtever you want int he tank, you just wont reap the benefits of the VQ engine.

All it takes is a few minutes doing of

I've done my share of 4th gen reading, but just recently bought a 5.5 gen, I've had many many questions related to the car, but before posting any questions I might have had, I spent a little while in the FAQ's/stickies/how to's etc, and have yet to post one question in the 5th forums because all my questions have been answered in there.

I also agree on the M5 comment, people ask questions and opinions on stuff they will probably never do/buy.

And about the search function. This stuff can easily be found using google, it usually always refers to a thread on the org when you type certain terms in, and what's in the FAQ's etc is very helpful.

About the low-midgrade fuel, read the stickies there a thread in there w/ dyno sheets, and you say "well it's a 6th gen and those posts are referring to 4th gens" Go back and read engine basics detonation, knock and ping, it relates engine dynamics and octane ratings, and BTW, the 6th gen has higher comperssion than our 4th gens, 10.3:1 vs 10.0:1, so that's all the more reason to use the better fuel.
