Use for blank tab next to the dimmer controls **PICS**

I didn't like having a blank tab next to the dimmer controls or anywhere else on the car for that matter. I don't know if it has a purpose in other cars but in mine it was nothing... until now. I put in a second security light with a 5mm bright white LED from the group deal. Now the security light can be seen from the driver and passenger sides. They blink in unison which also looks nice and I moved both lights to the outermost positions to give them the best visibility possible.

Yeah, but I don't mind. I like how it looks and it's better than just a blank tab.

Besides, all you see through the tint is the LED's which was the main point, to give it a purpose.

The stock LED has a tiny resistor inside of the rubber base it's mounted to. I pulled off the rubber base, resistor and stock LED and soldered on a normal resistor and LED directly onto the terminals left behind.

I also measured and made sure the LED was all the way up against the face so that it's as bright as possible. My replacement LED sits high off of the base compared to the stock one. I did both security lights like this.

Also I didn't have a harness for the second security light, so I soldered wires directly onto those terminals too and then spliced it into the stock security light wiring.

Absolutely no problems.
