Hey...i hear you have a y-pipe wrapped in header wrap. Do you have the whole pipe wrapped or just the flex section..? how much of a difference did it make?
I want to buy a y-pipe but i want it to still be quiet. Is the new stillen the best way to go then?
Anyone has experience with the new stillen pipe please post here...And also post the purchase price of the pipe

The LS400 was too noisy. Didn't you also just get a spoiler?

no..i will not be buying ls400 anymore
Instead i will Max my Max to the MAX! lol
it's not a very sound financial decision for me right now to sell the Max and buy the Ls. So i just won't do it. LS is probably going to be my next car though...whenever that is...

I just wrapped the flex portion of the Y... I used 2 clamps over the flex section in addition to one to either end.

I could give you a comparison w/o because I did all of it when it was new... It did increase the exhaust noise significantly with my GReddy SP.

BTW I have the newer 2 piece nonequal length one... Not the newest one with the coating however... Got it last year at Maxima Day

ok..so you thoroughly wrapped the y with header wrap. where did you buy the wrap and how much was it. Also, what do you mean two clamps? the metal parts that attaches it to underneath the car?
thanks

No... JUST the FLEX PORTION...

You need 'header wrap clamps' that look like the screw down radiator hose clamps but much thinner. I clamped down the flex at two points (equally spaced) because some people said that it would limit the expansion of the joint... Not sure if it was necessary or helped with the reduction of "hissing/razzing" but no big...

You can buy both the wrap and fasteners at most American Hot Rod speed shops or at JEGS, etc...
