Ever since weather has been getting colder, my car has had a hard time staying idle consistently.

Few problems:
1) Hard to start, need to press gas 2 or 3 times before car stays running.

2) When engine is warm, i frequently get stalled and engine stops at a red light. RPM will suddenly just drop and needle will struggle to stay alive.

3) Gas Mileage is bad (high teens to low 20s/gallon).

4) Service Engine Soon light also turned on few days ago.

What could possibly be the problem(s)??? I have few ideas, but i wanna hear what yall have to say first.

you should check the codes if the check engine light is on. Problem codes would help enourmously in the diagnosis of the problem.

 

i bet you come up with a 0908 code... sounds like you got a faulty Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (ECTS). but you should definately check your codes. good luck!
