problem after changing spark plugs...

well, I have a stutter sometimes at idle (shift selector in Drive).
I was told about the 99 coil pack problems. I do not want to blow $400 unless I HAVE to. I do not know how to test the coil packs.
So I changed the plugs. (car is at 94K on factory plugs)
The plug in the cylinder on the passenger/firewall side was a bit unique from the others. The electrode was a bit white.
Anyways, my wife drove it to work today, she told me it started jerking REAL bad, and the CEL came on. She went to Autozone to pull the codes. The tech. said the pulled code was : "ignition system or misfire".
Afterwards, the car was fine...
Any advice?
Is that one white plug and the CEL pointing to an intermittant fouling coil pack?

Check all the coil packs where they go over the spark plug. A friend of mine had a problem like this and found one pack with a crack at the bottom of it and it was causing it to ground out when it was trying to fire. May not be it but you might double check.
