Problem with fuel. Please Help

Hey everyone, I was driving to work this morning and after 20 miles my car started shaking! It seemed to me like the fuel was cut out or something like that. It would give me bursts of power but for the most part no matter how much gas I gave it, it would not accelerate. I think it may be the fuel filter. I recently changed the spark plugs, so I know that is not the problem, and the engine is not misfiring. Sometimes when the car is idling it the rpm needle will go up and then down a few times and then finally the engine just cuts out. On my way home from work I drove the speed limit and had no problems whatsoever. I am planning on changing the fuel filter today, but any other input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Greg

Could be bad gas in the tank or probably the MAF sensor (clean it by pouring rubbing alcohol on it but don't touch the sensor part - just pour it from both sides and let it dry completely before putting it back on). If you don't know what the MAF sensor is, look at the how to clean throttle body link in the How To thread at the top (and clean your TB while you're at it)

Also, did you gap the plugs correctly?

thanks man i'll check that out. The plugs came already gapped. They are Bosch Platinum+2s and the problem started before I changed them. Thanks again
