purge volume controller?

i keep on getting a cel for purge volume controller. i'll clear it, drive for a bout 2days and it'll come back. what the hell is a purge volume controller? and where is it located?

does anyone know about this at all? car seems to run fine but i would rather like to know what it does and if its easy to fix.
