97-99 Conversion.....?????

Instead of buying the 97-99 front bumper for my Max, I decided to keep the 96 bumper becuase I like that there is a big gap in the front that would really look good with an intercooler behind it (Once I get the turbo). My question is....would the 97-99 grill fit onto my Max with the 96 bumper and headlights? Also, I need some tail lights...bad...anyone with the OEM tail lights selling for cheap?

The grill will fit, there's a pebble beige that has it, can't remember his name off hand.

Thanks! Would you know if it would fit without modification?

It will work. You will need to trim the outer edges of the grill where it meets the bumper. On the 97-99 grill, the outer posts on the grill go down further then on the 95-96.
No need to swap headlights or bumpers!

If you want, I can post pics of a 97-99 grill next to a 95-96 grill to show the diffrence.
I have one of each in my attic,....... along with a bumper, oem tails, alteezas, oem intake,etc.....

Heres the pics.....

As you can see, the 97 grill has longer outer edges then the 96.

So, to make the 97 fit onto a 96, you'd just have to cut off about 1/8" off the bottom of the white bars?

Yup! I would probably do it a little at a time untill it fits just right.
A dremel might be ideal for that type of job. You could use a cutting wheel then use a sanding bit to smooth it out.
