Problems with y-pipe?

Yea i got the warpspeed y-pipe this weekend in my car... when in moderate acceleration there is a windy noise coming from the bottom of the car... is this normal or is it a exhaust leak?... i tightened all the bolts to specification and it didnt help... Please help...

Yeah there is a little noise at WOT because there are no more restrictions.

u mean rattling or noise? if it sounds like air, its the freed up exhaust gas

but remember that you will get a hiss from the y-pipe regardless if you have a lined flex section or not. The lined flex sections are quite a bite quieter. I would know since I owned a Stillen Y-pipe prior to my WSP. Much of the hiss comes from the thinner wall tubing and lack of precats (which do suppress noise).

exhaust leak would sound like a loud exhaust, like a catback or something like that. i would say that is just the normal sound with the y pipe. of course im not there to hear it so cant know for sure, but leak is unlikely.

The only way to check is to turn the car on and stick your hand over the exhaust and cover it completely. See if you can still feel any pressure on your hand, it should be able to push your hand off. If you do feel it your exhaust is fine. While you cover it have someone listen under your car to see if the hissing becomes louder. If it becomes louder or when you cover your hand over the tail pipe you feel no pressure, you have a leak. Time to go to the muffler shop.
