why brake light does not work?

when I turn the ignition key to on, I can see the brake light on instrument panel. But when I stop and pull the parking brake, the light does not appear on instrument panel. Any suggestions?

There is a switch under the boot of your parking brake handle. This switch lights the warning light when the handle is raised. It might be a good idea to inspect that switch and make sure it is connected and working properly.

if I am reading this correctly, then you have a light on when the ignition is on, but not when the parking brake is applied while driving.

Is it on while you are driving? When applying the brakes regularly?

The first thing I would check is your brake fluid level. Is there any in the reservior? If it seems a bit low, but not unnaturally low, check the wear level of the brake pads, particularly the front ones. It may be time to change them. If there is almost no brake fluid in the reservior, add some, check the brake pad wear level, and maybe even get someone to inspect the brake system for a leak somewhere.

Hope this helps.

I have already opened the cover(the whole cup holder plastic box). There is a sheet metal with a plastic cover on the bottom. The sheet metal is attached with one electric wire. Is that the swtich? It is not under the parking handle. It does not touch anything. Maybe it does not work. Since it does not touch anything, the parking light should on all the time.

Just bought my car one month ago. The light is on only when I start the engine and disappears after several seconds. When I park regually the light is not on. The brake is Ok because I can stop the car quickly and brake fluid level is normal.
