Well today i was behind a mazda-6 and i noticed they had inresting tails the were basically chrome altezas but the inerrs had been painted red i think that is would look nice on your guys tails since there is not that much stuff you guys can do.

It's a good idea -- better than true altezza's IMO.

 

IMO, these rears would not look good on a 4th gen

 

He's not saying the actual taillights from a Mazda 6. He's saying to buy chrome altezza's and painting the inside red. No, swapping mazda 6 taillights won't look good, but painting altezza's is better than having chrome glaring off your taillights IMO.

 

how about yall just convert to 97-99 rear end with as much as red/clears are costing yall (when you can find some), it would make more sense to just convert.....

 

I actually like my '96 Red/Amber tails better anyways...I was just complementing his creativity/etc.

 

I prefer my 95-96 red/clears but this is a pretty good idea actually. Hopefully someone tries it!

 

I think somone on the ORG has already painted their alteeza's a transparent red.
I recall seeing it but cant remember just who it was.

this is an old idea to take the lense off on an a alteza and paint it. There is an atlanta guy who has his painted redparent red and it looks pretty good. But also to make red.clears ou could take then lense off the altezza and paint the bottom part red, and then you got red/clears.

Uh, ok. So what do you do with a clear portion of an alteeza with the bottom part painted red? Are you saying to mount that on top of the OEM tail? I highly doubt that would work. Even it did, it would look like sh#t. Red/clears arent actually completly clear. Their a whitish translucent color. Not crystal clear, which is what you will end up with if you were to paint the alteezas cover.

 

i hate 97-99 rear it looks to smooshed....if i am gonna convert i am going R33 stylez RearDeck...Tails....Bumper and spend the money the right way......but realisitcally nites shades still owns all

Well, he did a bit more then just "take then lense off the altezza and paint the bottom part red, and then you got red/clears."
Im curious as to where the silver part thats on his outers is coming from.
Thats not part of the clear lens on the altezza.
Its been a while since I looked at them real close. I have a set in myattic I may pulled down to inspect.
