Suspension setup

OK, i am going to upgrade my suspension first. I am thinking Illuminas and S Techs with a 20 dollar fstb and a rsb. sound good to everyone?

Sounds good. You're going for looks right? S-techs are a looks spring at the cost of handling and comfort. You really may not need the rsb once lowered.

Edit-And I'm glad we don't have to convince you to go with a good strut .

Sounds good, I dont really know why your asking for everyones acceptance but S Techs are comfortable for the drop they give...

yeah i dont think you need the rsb .my car handles so much better since i lowered it. i think you would be wasteing your money on the rsb.

what do you mean looks spring? all the aftermarket springs lower the car and add to a lower looking profile and apperance...so whats up with these?

Lower doesnt mean better performer around corners, too low is actually worse. The best drop performance wise is Eibach and H&R is a close second. They allow enough wheel travel so you can carve corners without hitting bumpstop.

They're a show spring, they make the car lower and make it look good, but its not going to give you a greater manuvering car. You'll eliminate body roll but you'll be hitting bumpstops all over.

Your welcome... Yea sprints are definately show springs... I'd take S Techs any day over Sprints... one of my boys around here has S Techs with AGX's and they ride pretty nice considering the drastic drop they give. SPrints are wayyy too harsh.

So Ant, you rode in his car in BK, how much worse did the bumps feel on your friend's S-Techs compared to stock or your setup which I suppose are Eibachs?? I'm stuck between S-Techs or H&R's. Reason I ask is BK and Newark streets are identical IMO so your thought on their ride would be helpful to my final decision. Thanks.

I dont have Eibachs, I have B&G's with GR2's... B&G's are listed as being 1.6" but theyre alot lower than that.. they're almost 2"... I've seen quite a few other Maximas with B&G's and none are as low as me... I have no clue why, but I'm not complaining.
The ride isnt too harsh but you can still feel it. H&R's with Illuminas are perfect...

But me like most people just want the car to look low so I'm used to dodging potholes. If I were to do it again I'd get S Techs in a heartbeat, they're very smooth and not teeth chattering like mine are.

It also depends on your wheels, I just sold my 17's and put my 15's back on.. and man does it ride sooooooooo much nicer. I feel like I'm driving a different car. If your staying with 17's or under get S Techs... 18's and up go with H&R's... Your car just wont look dropped. Unfortunately you have to sacrafice ride quality for looks.

Edit: Eibachs are one of the stiffest springs available for our cars so their ride is going to be rough... but they can sure handle corners.

Oh, well I guess that puts the S-Techs out of the question for me cuz I'm set on 19's for the Spring. I guess I'll go H&Rs, or maybe rish S-Techs and if not satisfied switch again *shruggs shoulders*

Thanks.

I have AGX's with H&R's, and the ride is a little on the stiff side for me (due to the AGX's). Less stiff in the rear now that I installed Ben's rear shock mounts. I highly recommend these mounts if you are lowering your car.
