we need more aftermarket support

I dunno if this is just me or you guys agree too but im just tired of all the same old same old modifications. There are NO new products out there for us. every now and then maybe a new exhaust or springs are produced but thats about it. how come nobody makes no new products for us? 5th gens are having alot more choices than we do. new products for them every week, wheather its a new bodykit or angel eye headlights or door sills, turbo and the list goes on. for the past year, we havent had that many new products introduced to us. maybe some d2 coilovers, coupla new catbacks and springs and a few headlight options. whats the deal here? looks like the list of mods for us never grows any bigger with more choices

i have yet to see a day when a manufacturer decides to make a product strictly for US. heck nobody is even willing to produce 500 sets of red/clears for the 95-96 owners, whats up with that?

The car is getting old. A lot of people don't think it's worth the money to modify it. A Stillen S/C used to cost 1/5 the price of the car, now it's more than 1/2. Meanwhile the 5th Gen is in the position our cars were a few years back.

thats what i like about the maxima crowd. compared to others, we have very little, but somehow we still can be original, and if someone wants something bad enough, theyll build it, instead of going to weapon*r and buying something someone else says will make your car cool. i.e. hal. name one civic enthusiast that has made that much of an impact on his crowd. wait, you cant, because every 16 year old chick to 94 year old grandpa drives one. my $.02

It sucks, but that's just the way it is now. Our cars are now old, 10 years now for some. It just isn't what it used to be anymore. That's why I just have my car, enjoy it, and feel content.

There are people that are working on new things, people are putting together projector headlights, and various other mods. you have to be creative, if you want a certain mod or to have something look a certain way then figure out how to do it. i love the fact that i have made parts and things for my max, and they are not off the shelf and stamped out by the millions. . . . i am in development of a new style of air intake for the 4 th gen that hasnt been done before (i'll post something about it when it is done with testing) . Those honda kids dont have any soul in thier rides, they bought all their parts and mods ready made.

Mods will some day soon just be custom... Be glad we have what we do.... Pretty soon someone will bring in a 4th gen to "Pimp My Ride". Start using your brains instead of Marketed Mods.... Then after you come up with a sweet idea, tell me so I could be down...LOL

I think we do need more aftermarket support.. but not having it is what makes modded Maximas unique. Sure theres tons of modded Civics, Accords, Tegs and all those ugly rice rockets but you dont see as many riced out Max's like mine

I agree. I've been able to find clear turn signals, sway bars, strut braces, intakes, cat backs, suspension kits, body kits, Altezza tails, headers, Y-pipes, brake kits... the list goes on.

None of these things could I find for two of my other cars.

1996 Cutlass Supreme SL
1989 Plymouth Acclaim LX

One of the reasons I went to a Jap car IS because there's so much more stuff to put on them than for American cars.

However, after driving my Maxima and pushing it hard sometimes, I've realized that it's a sedan... not a sports car, but as far as sedans go, it IS the sportiest I've had. So I'm quite content with the selection for it and am actually surprised as to how much stuff there is for this 4 door.

i'm pretty content with the mods i can do to my car. sure it's not over the top and all crazy but i'm not even the close to hitting the limit as far as performance goes so yeah. if i wanted a really fast car, i would have picked a different platform to start moddin on. all the money i spent on the max kind of seems like a waste since i could have spent in other stuff. but oh well... it's now my daily driver and i'll probably pick up a project car soon (FC3S or 1 gen eclipse)

My question is: What else do you want for them to make??? Suicide doors? We have a good chunk of stuff and we also have that chip on ebay that gives us 10+hp, guaranteed. More stuff on our cars may make them look like Accords, and I don't roll like that.

Get more money. Then you can custom one-off everything since it sounds like appearance mods you're after.

That or get another car.

There are a lot of mods for us guys out there but one could hope that some of these other aftermarket companies would make something uniquely for Maximas. Granted most of our cars are pushing 10+ years old and they do view Maximas as sedans, but some of the older magazines like Car and Driver refer to Maximas as Sport Sedans because of the good engine that Nissan designed for us and the unbelieveable pep they have. But today you see modded 4DR Fords, Chevy's, Acura's, Honda's, Toyota's: All considered sports sedans. WTF gives with that crap. I too would like to see more aftermarket parts for our cars but let's face it: NO ONE CARES like we do about our cars. If we don't design it and mod our cars no one else will.

Your crazy if you don't think the maxima has a decent amount of mods available. I think for the type of car we have there are tons of mods. Trust me, we have way more stuff than 5th gens do. They might be getting newer stuff than us but we have much more quanitity

Turbo kit
Bolt on SC
5 different y-pipes
headers
test-pipes
intakes out the A$$
ECU ROM tunes
cat-backs
springs
struts
sub frame connectors
rear sway bars
FSTB
RSTB
Front sway bars
coilovers
modified strut mounts
cluthes
flywheels
intake manifolds
nitrous systems
STS
larger TB's
UDP's
Big brake kits

This is just the performance stuff of the top of my head, I am sure I could come up with more. Then add in all the apperance and ricer mods....

im not looking for any specific products. im just saying that there is nothing new for us to look forward to. we have a list of current mods and thats all the options we have, which are alot.the list of mods is the same old list, basically anything added to that list is custom work !

WHAT the fuck?! What in the living hell do you have to PROVE to me, or ANYONE on this site? Why do you think this is a popularity contest? Sorry to burst your bubble....it's NOT!

I could give a sh*t less how anyone spends their money on their car. Whether it be $300 or $4000 at a time. It SERIOUSLY does not make a difference in my life.

Honestly the only thing I'd like to see on our cars are some type of nicer body kit availability. The M bumper is probably my favorite second to the Stillen Kit... but its fiberglass...

i don't know bought u guys.......i love the power my car puts out.....and the other appeal to it is that its more of a challange to make it fast...not like all the others out there that buy an already fast car....thats no fun, or even grattifying to say something like"yeah my car came from the factory this way"....its way more fun to say things like "i made this and its the only on of its kind"
