starter noise, know how to degrease, just a quick question

Now that the cold weather is coming up, the starter has been "wheeeeeee-ing" whenever I cold start. I know theres a way of degreasing it, but I was just wondering what, if any, detrimental things can happen if I just let this keep going. Would I have to replace my starter soon? or this isn't anything to be concerned of. Thanks for you replies.

Why would u say that?... if it cranks it obviously isnt bad...
if u want to regrease it, its simple just take the starter out... take it apart and put some grease where the gears are.. thats it.. i did it and all the noise went away
