Mine is 5 - this is without the car moving and 0 throttle.
Car warmed up completly.
I'm trying to get JWT to take the Z32 MAF Program they sent me back, because the car runs rough (REALLY bad on cold starts) and even warmed up, timing is jumping between 7-11 constantly.
With the A32 ECU and A32 MAF in, it's steady at 5 and seems to idle fine.
With the A32 ECU and Z32 MAF in, it's also steady at idle (doesn't run good with load however)
SO it's not the MAF - it's gotta be the chip.
Help me prove it - what's your timing at idle?

the timing should not be changed at idle....only the WOT map is different from the stock ecu and that still is only changed above 2.5K I think....timing should be the same allowance as stock +15 BTDC + or - 5 degrees I think according to the FSM...
kinda depends on where your idle rpm is....if the rpm is lower, it will have lower timing, etc. mine fluctuates when fully warmed up between 9 and 11 I believe...but when I am in gear driving, and I put the clutch in, the timing returns to 15 degrees according to my auterra (both with the TS ecu and stock)....
what is your idle fully warmed up?
that many degrees is too low....do you have a knock sensor ghost code with your auterra?
try using the "clear DTC's" button in the auterra program and see what the timing is...if that doesn't work, I remember reading on here that someone was running low timing even at idle and his idle rpm's was fine and a new knock sensor, so he did something called the "idle air volume learning procedure" or if your idle rpm's are too low you could raise that using the IACV screw...

At idle, warmed up, 0 throttle, mine runs at 15; occasionally dropping to 13 every now and then. I'm reading it off a Techtom MDM-100.
I compared my data with someone else who has the SC program - his at idle is 2-4.....
Interesting...
Car in his and my tests is fully warmed up, idle is dead steady around 750....no KS codes.

that's really low for idle...even on the S/C program...cause there is not boost there so why does the timing need to be so low? I would think only the WOT map would be changed....so therefore idle wouldn't be affected...
BSwithTF, what is your idle rpm?
BSwithTF, what is your idle rpm?
You would think - but I now have 2 cars and 3 EEPROMS that do the exact same thing - Seems JWT retards timing at idle.

Right around 750-800 if I remember correctly. Next time I go somewhere I'll see what it is for sure.BSwithTF, what is your idle rpm?
