The difference between stock resonator and aftermarket midpipe is around 1/4 of a hp and about the same on torque according to this dyno graph made by an orger in Alabama. See link below:

Of course dyno results depend on ambient temp and elevation which greatly differs geographically. Personally, I'm going to remove my HAI setup and hack the airbox and do some custom piping to direct cool air from outside the engine. Save your $$$. That's my 2 cents.

lol...you're comparing peak hp/tq? You need to pay more attention to the area beneath the curve throughout the powerband.

The frankencar loses a good 2-5hp almost throughout the powerband and also loses almost 10hp at 4.5-5k.

We'll I'm actually pro-stock-resonator so you proved it even more that the stock one is better and less noisier.

I just got a crazy idea using the stock box!!!

Hack the stock box by cutting a 3" hole into the bottom side of it. Then use the CAI intake tube, cut it to shorten it a bit, and route it the same way thru the opening next to the battery tray. Perhaps put some kind of breathable material in the end to keep water out of the intake when driving on wet roads. Cool air will now be diverted from under the front bumper up the intake stream.
