How do i remove my pinstipes????????

the pin stripes on my car are like all patchy and worn away, its no longer a solid line going accross the side, its worn away into sections lol. i wanted to know if there was an easy way to remove them, like some kind of chemical or method i should do. i tried jus scratching them off with my finger nail but it doesnt seem to do mch of a good job. claybar did nothing.

i remember there was something in the FAQ but i cant find it, or its been deleted, anyone have a link or just advice on how to remove the stripes.

try leaving the car in the hot sun(not at this time of the year ) and then drenching the spot you are working with soap and water. worked for me. Follow with some goo-gone to remove the extra glue left on the car

Mine were painted on. I took mine to the body shop since I tried every possible method I could think of without wetsanding them and that's how they got em off. It was my man's boy, so he did it for free. Yeah, it was a beautiful thing. I know. That's why I bought him a 24 pack of Coronas.

lmao, looks like im gonna have to grab a bucket to sit on and a beer to keep me sane.

i used denaturated alcohol to get rid of the glue after removing my rear emblems, it damn near just wiped off with a rag and the alcohol. didnt do any dammage at all. paint and clear coat is still good. do you think it would work on the on stripes? i had a mix of like 60% alcohol 40% water jus to make sure it wasnt too harsh. it worked great tho.

my friend is here telling me that they sell something at pepboys to remove it, if its open tomorow ill check it out.

im guessing no body has a link to the instructions that were in the stickys.

Thanx for all the help guys and have a happy new year. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im staying in tonight because all im hearing is sirens and gun shots, im havin a great time with my girl, and my friends. be safe guys.

I used a heat gun to loosen up the glue, fingernail to get it off and graffitti remover to get rid of the rest of the glue, and no the graffitti remover didn't hurt my paint. Took me about 2 hrs to do both sides.

I have used a rubber wheel to get some decals off of my bike. Wouldnt that work for the pinstriping too?

rubber wheel like what, like one off of an old Radio control car? i may look into that...im jus concerned that the constant rubbing will wear away the clearcoat, ill look into that to make sure. i had the same idea with a pink pencil eraser too.

No theres a rubber disc that plugs into a drill that I bought from a local paint mixing store that is designed to take decals off of painted surfaces. I used it to take the big kawasaki labels off my ninja. Didnt dull the paint or anything. And its really fast, you could probably de-pinstripe your car in about 10 minutes.
