Valve cover done...

Well it appears my valve cover is done and the burning smell is the oil burning from it. The link in the FAQ's is broken, anyone have any exprience with this. One mechanic gave me a quote of $268. Is this a job I can do myself?

Do you mean, Valve cover gaskets? If so, you can do that yourself for way less than $268.
