Cars broken won't move! trans ? [LONG but detailed, need help!]

Well my car has been fine for a long time, even fine this morning while it was raining. When i got out of school I didn't allow the car to warm up but I didn't think it would be to big of an issue, you only can go a maximum of 10 leaving the school traffic is so bad. As soon as i got out onto the street while in drive the rpm's redlined. It wanted me to stay almost redlined to keep it moving, I tried manually shifting it into the first and second gears but no luck, nothing would grab. Turned around and got it into the schools parking lot 3 days ago, its been sitting there now for a bit and i need to choose where to have it towed.

Unfurtuantly my car was in for a rebuilt transmission last year in Jan and it was $2500, the warranty was only 6 months. With no abuse at all I'm stuck with this now, I'm 17 and trust me, my parents are pissed! The weird thing about this entire issue is I've went everyday to jsut check and thought i could maybe get lucky with trying to get it moving but reverse works great. My reverse grabs on right away and I could probably hit 30! Checked my ATF and its a normal color. I thought if a trans was blown the fluid would be black. Its a 97 SE auto with 121k miles on it..I don't want to lose these thing just yet or ill be stuck driving like a 88 Honda. I've been drastically searching for places that could do it cheap or even take a look at it and see what is actually wrong. Either today or tomorrow (Whenever this blizzard stops) I'm going to head up there with my buddy and scan the ECU see what comes up. Any ideas would be so much help! I find it weird that reverse works and the ATF is normal color... drive just wont catch.

Check your ECU first. You can check it yourself. Check the ECU page.

That really sux. So you rebuilt your tranny one year ago to the tune of $2500? Ouch!

I would reccomend that you visit the tranny shop and talk your problem over with them. Tell them your parents spent a lot of money with them ($2500 is quite a lot) and that they are not willing to spend the money again. Make sure to tell them you have not driven the car hard! Keep your cool and be nice! You never know what they might do for you!

It was a place called "Bell Transmissions". My parents had it towed to a different mechanic tonight so I guess they're springing more money... Just scared this is all gonna happen again and It wont be worth of my hassle paying them back:/

Maybe try to describe the problem/symptoms in more detail along with details about your car...year, maintenance history, milage...and then maybe we could help you.
