Dome Light and Personal Light brightness

Anyone know if there is an easy safe way to make the dome and personal (the one be the rear view mirror) lights brighter. I've got a 95 and was riding in a friends 99 and the light was much brighter. I'm pretty sure I have the correct bulb in there too when I replaced it, but it seems dimmer

Polarg M26 for the Maplight. I don't know the nuber for the Rear Personal one, but go with Polarg. They're great.
