painting wheels (by a shop)...have a question about it.

i'm REALLY considering painting my wheels black and i was wondering how many people have done this? ill be taking it to a paint shop and not doing it myself (plz dont tell me to do it myself cause i just dont have the time/patients to do it myself....plus i want it come out perfect with good quality paint, no cheap spary paint).

so my question is.....does it need to be powder coated or will it be fine if its not? its a one piece wheel so i cant find too many places thats willing to powder coat it. A LOT of people are telling me that itll be fine without powder coating. and do you think the paint will last without looking dull and fading for a long time? i mean 5+ years. also, how likely do you think it is for me to scratch the paint b/c of rock chips or whatever on the floor?

It will be fine without powdercoating, if its painted properly and severaly layers are sprayed down. Mine were painted by a shop that specialized in nothing but painting/repairing wheels, they have been on my car for 20k miles and look great. But they do cheap easier than powercoated finishes.
