Scary....

About a month ago i had a wilwood big brake kit installed. when i installed them i had to install spacers becuase the calipers would have hit the spokes on my rims, and i kept my stock wheel studs. today when i was driving i heard some really loud noises coming from the front drivers side tire so i stopped by my mechanic to find that two ADJACENT wheels studs were missing and all 5 of the wheels studs on the front passenger side were loose, so i was driving around on 3 studs that were next to eachother on one side, and 5 loose studs on the other... So i have come to the conclusion that either someone tried to steal my rims, or my bolts were coming off slowely but surely. Anyways i now need longer wheels studs to ensure this doesnt happen again. Does anyone know how long our stock wheels studs are? would these work?

they also have them in 50 mm.

I don't understand how studs would come off like that unless you didn't torque them right, I hope no one was trying to steal your rims now that is SCARY!

well only 5 or 6 threads are holding on these bolts and my mechanic used a electric gun thingy to bolt on the studs last time...and what was scary to me was that the wheel could have flown off if i gave the car to much gas or i turn a hard turn.....but stealing my rims is scary too....

If you SHORTEN the length of the stud, by using wheel spacers, you shorten thread depth.

If you put wheel spacers on, GET LONGER STUDS

If you have to space the wheels out drastically, you might be better off with wheel adapters. Although they are more expensive, its absolutely better than spacers alone. Plus it doesn't put a lot of stress on the lugs on your car. You can get 5 to 5 lug adapters.
