Put a 5th Generation maxima engine into a 4th Generation???

 

i doubt it..i dont think it lines up right..i may be wrong

 

I think the mounts are the same so it should fit in no problem, you would definatly need a 2K max's ECU and wiring etc.. I suggest you look into it extensively before even thinking about doing it. If you do the swap make sure to let us all now. Good luck!

well a 4th generation maxima has 190 horses and um the new maxima has 222 right??? ok then well say your car has ova 200,00 miles on it right and u are going to put a new engine it it.. ok eight... then u could purchse a new engine with 222 horses and if u put a supercharger on it.. well i think u get the idea...

 

It's my understanding that the engines are the same with the 5th gens having a slightly modified exhaust and intake. Thus the slight increase in horsepower. Still attainable on the 4th gen engine. It would be cheaper to just get a 4th gen engine I would assume, especially if you plan on swapping engines. It'll save you a few dollars that could go to the SC.
