Max still pulls left/right even after alignment
Max still pulls left/right even after alignment
Just recently had an alignment done on my max, as well as recently putting new tires on it. I upgraded from the OE 215/55/16 to the 225/50/16, better response, but after having an alignment done, I still feel the car tug at times left or right. Is this a suspension or a steering issue?
could be a number of things. first of all, check your tire pressures. if they are low, it will cause that to happen. second, are you lowered? if so, lowering the car may have introduced some camber issues which could cause it.
lastly, and i'm thinking this prolly what you are seeing, is that it is really nothing. all roads have a natural crown to them, meaning the centerline of the road is higher than the outsides. this is there to aid in water runoff when it rains. this slope is only 2% normally, but even that much is enough to make your car feel sometimes like it wants to run down the slope, which makes it seem like you need an alignment. the effect is more noticeable in the city, i've found. to really test your alignment, you need a perfectly flat section of road, which can be something like the center of a huge interstate highway, or the middle lane on a divided highway or something like that.
in other words, it may not be your alignment. check those tire pressures though. sorry for the long-winded-ness.

ask the guy who did your alignment 2 give u the print outs of everything, then post what u got and we can see is your camber or w/e is off. if not then its the crown of the road like bullfrog said. same thing happens 2 me and i just got mine aligned
not to sound really dumb.. but how much is is moving ? becuase it could just be the wind and the fact that most roads are on an angle so you will pull right or left no matter what. I had mine redone 2 times and it is as close as it will be and it will pull left or right and I determined that it had to be what I mentioned earlier.
Otherwise I woudl recomend the bushings like he said becuase I have already done those and it did help.
