I know in an ideal situation you would want to both. However, I am curious if springs make a bigger difference than shocks or visa versa.

Currently I am on H&R springs (on since 1999 and has made a huge difference) and the stock shocks.

I think the shocks are still good and am debating whether or not to invest the money in Illumina's. I'm wondering if it's really going to make a big difference.

 

IMHO i'd say shocks. Springs bounce... Shocks control how much u bounce and how stiff the ride is. Also springs as far as i know don't really "go bad" as shocks definitely do. I'm on Tokico Illumina shocks and springs right now and very happy btw.

 

it depends on what you mean by "bigger difference"
if you're refering to handling, shocks will affect it more so than springs
while ride comfort is more affected by springs.
i would recommend you get new shocks because your handling will increase tremendously, especially that you got performance springs.

 

they both play an important part the springs bounce more, but the springs bounce back due to the struts its hard to choose, if you drove with bad sruts you'll feel it no matter how good your springs are and vise sersa.

But I will go with struts, since that is more responsible for ride quality, and why people get adjustables.
