How Do You Install A New Antenna Mast Or Motor??????

my antenna broke a long time ago due to leaving it on in an automatic carwash. didn't notice it until i got home and looked at the back of my car.
the thing was barely hanging on so i just broke it. i'm thinking about replacing it was an antenna mast from ebay or maybe get a new motor and everything all though the motor still works. does anybody know HOW TO REMOVE THE OLD ANTENNA THOUGH ON A 97, SEEMS LIKE THERES NO WAY AROUND THE OUTSIDE, BUT THEN AGAIN THATS JUST ME...

take a pair of needle nose, and put it in the 2 little slits and start turning it. itll remove that outer chrome ring. i dont remember what comes directly after that, maybe another ring or so. but you turn on the radio and it should fall out after its off its vinyl track.

to put it in, you need 2 people, you insert the teeth of the vinyl track facing the rear fo the car. the person inside the car at the same time will turn off the radio and it should take it in. it may take one or two tries to get it.
