air bag light flashing (on 98GLE)
Hi..checked the FAQ's for a thread on this, and found none.
For the third time in the past two years, my air bag light is flashing.
The previous two times, the dealer *scrubbed* the code.
Once for free, the second time not free, in fact rather expensive!
Is there any,(hopefully permanent) remedy for this problem?
Is there any chance that a real problem exists, not just a code reading
problem?
Thanks for any help!

How to reset SRS(air bag) light
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).
Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.
If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer.

make sure to try the key in different positions between taking it out and acc.....after a few tries it should go away.....dont take it to the dealer....I thought i needed to but after a few weeks I tried diff key positions when resetting the light and it finally went off.....this was March 2004 and it had never come back on!
