Rebuilding a 4th Generation motor....
#1
I was thinking about having the motor from my 1999 se-Limited rebuilt.. It has about 50K on it, but I found a 1999 motor w/ under 3k on it CHEAP!! What I was planning to do, was perhaps have the block CYRO-treated, intake and exhaust manifolds extrude honed, modded valve work titanium everything and such.. Does Jim Wolf do this kind of in-depth engine mod work?? I plan on custom turbo w/ 12psi w/ intercooler kind of stuff.. Mabey some funny fumes... You know, stuff that we dream about... Is there anyone who has attempted such an, or any internal modifications?? I only remember like two people that popped their 4th gen powerplant... I also heard that the pp on the fifth gen is the same as the forth.. You know what that means... If they modify the 3.5 to fix the max, mounts should aline.. It's like what we do with Hondas... Only with about 245HP!!! What do you think???

juss make sure that motor comes with intake and exhaust manifolds, alot of times they will sell you the motor seperate. You can take it to any reputable shop to do the build but be prepared to wait a long time for parts and be prepared to spend. Im in my 7th month of building a spare motor, everything finally arrived and am waiting for valves thats all. What do you mean by modded valve work anyways? like a 5 angle valve job? this is good but i wouldnt recommend for street use, lots of carbon buildup happens. Good luck on that turbo project.
