When you shaved, did you shave your hole?

I want to shave my rear emblems. I already shaved the burger. I'm looking to shave the "MAXIMA", which is obvious.

Here's my question. Did you guys also shave the key hole? Can it even be shaved? If so, won't it cause problems in the winter time, like freeze up etc.?

Thanks

shavin the key hole is a lot differnt then shavin the emblems. shavin the emblems you remove the *****es and then just get some goo off and remove the residue. with the key hole you need to go to a body shop and have them do it. they will most likely just slap some kitty hair in there, bondo over that, and paint it. probably around 200-300 bucks.

some people would actually pay 200-300 bucks to have that complete clean look for the rear.

I've got a dark blue car so I painted my keyhole black so it's less noticable . It's cheaper than shaving it and it makes the back end look a little more clean.

the one on my car is done too.. if you wanted to paint your black, i would recomend using bulldog adhesive promoter, or another type of promoter first, and then flexible flat black bumper and trim paint.

I used rustoleum gloss black. The key hole has a large clip behind it that hold it in. To get to it remove the trunk lid carpet and you will see it. It has a pull tab and it just pulls out, then the key hole can be wiggled out far enough to sand and clean it. Then mask the trunk and prime & paint the key hole. I don't use it (but it still works if I needed it) so there are no marks from sticking a key in there.

I painted my emblems the same way, just never put them back on (the trunk).

Very true, when I repainted my car I just asked the guy to fill it in for me, he didn't charge me any extra.
