I've got a '96 GXE. It doesn't have the little entryway into the trunk from the back seat like I know some of yours do. Does anyone know of a good way to remove this barrier without making it look bad?

I went out and looked it over today, and if I removed it completely it would look a little ugly with all the metal edges showing. I was thinking maybe I should just cut a hole out for it. I've forgotten my keys in my trunk before and don't want to be stuck again.

Anyone have any suggestions? Pics? how tos?

I would say take out that plastic piece and then cut a hole in it. Find some rubber edging to put around it and you're done. I am not sure what it looks like since my max has this hole already....and stop locking your keys in the trunk!

 

wait- but you DO have the armrest right?

 

You need to find a junk yard car. Take it's rear seats and the metal plate that's bolted behind the rear seats.

 

Yeah, I've got the armrest and everything. I'm wanting access to the trunk from the backseat and I've got this cardboard type material in the way (some of the max's don't have this). I'm debating removing it completely or doing some homemade custom work and just making my own hole.
