black dash with tan interior

I was thinking of getting rid of my dash and centor console because they are that crap brown. How do you think black dash and center console would look with the tan leather interior? They only thing that is keeping me from doing it is the airbag. So who thinks it would look good.

I think it would look pretty good if you did that and got black floor mats as well (it would kind of match). Thats what I was thinking, because I have the same interior as you, and thats what I plan on doing.

My boy got an IS with Beige interior and a black dash. Didn't look bad, but then he got cheap $30 plain black mats to put over them to protect the beige factory ones and it looks really good. Also, his trunk is black as well. That's funny you said black mats to match because I never seen or heard of it till he did it out of the blue and its amazing.

yea it will look good one of the HOTTEST maxes had a tan/black interior. (jason sadler) he even kept the stock brown dash but accented everything with black like his seats were custom leather ones that were two tone... brown with black center part. HOT!

it'll be worth a shot, but you'll definitely need more black accents in the car to pull it off completely, maybe try getting two tone seats, door inserts, and switches to complement the dash? That would look pretty nice imo.

I used to have a 93 Audi 90s that had a black dash, and tan interior and tan carpet, and black floor mats that came from the factory. I think it looked very good, but you gotta compliment it with some obher stuff, maybe do like black door panels with original tan inserts or something like that. I too hate the poopy color of my interior, i'm probably gonna do a tan/black conversion before this summer.
I've looked around, and you can find a good black dash for about 100, i don't know how much a center console/armrest would cost, but i think you can find that at a junk yard or something.
How hard is it to replace the dash? Is it hard to swap out and put the airbag back in? Maybe any1 onhere has done the conversion and has some input?
