rear strut top bolt help

I finally finished getting my Tein Basics installed, but there's one thing I'm a bit wary about. The top strut bolt on the rear.... I'm not entirely sure how to get it fully tightend. I know there is a flat area on top of the bolt to grab onto with a wrench to keep the strut from turning, but that doesn't help me to get it fully tightened i don't think. It's an 8mm on my coilover, and I broke the 8mm wrench I put on there while turning the top nut with a regular ratcheting wrench. I had to use lots of liquid wrench, an impact wrench, and a vise grip on the strut to get that nut off the first time. Is there something I'm missing? Hopefully I've explained that well enough. Should be a question that anyone who has lowered their own car can answer.

btw, the install was absolute hell and involved replacing an axle for me and some other small issues. I have learned a lot about my car in the process though. I'll probably post a little more detailed account later. The drop is sweeeeeet though. I'll put up pics in about a week once I get a bit of body work done and the new wheels are on it.

it's supposed to be torqued to 15-20 ft-lbs, just like the front ones?
