ECU Reset Time

How long does it take for the codes to cycle back to normal after the ECU is reset on a 96SE? I think I read 200 miles but I wanted to be certain.

Thanks.

The codes should go away immediately. If they come back, you still have a problem.

Codes go away immediately but some sensors will take a while to be READY again.

Let me rephrase my question, I need to get past emissions in MD and when they connect to the computer, I'm being told there are too many codes likely because I had work done to the car. Yeah, I had to replace my purge cut valve and I had to reset the ECU. It worked, the CEL is gone, but I can't get their computer to get a read.

Is there something else I did wrong?

Thanks

Did you leave it set to diagnostic mode?

No, I rotated it back to the left. I thought about that the other day as well.

Thanks

Thanks...I was thinking of doing the same thing. MD standards are 96 or newer ...computer....earlier tailpipe. Maybe they will give me a break.

40 drive cycles

But if you're just clearing codes, mzmtg's on the ball.
