I know there was another thread with a similar title but my problem is a little different.
When i go to start my car i start and it revs to about 2k. then it dies. I will try it a couple of times and still nothing. If i start it and gas it when the rpms drop it will stay running. It usually only does when cold and first start of the day.

I have had the alternator checked at autozone and they said it was fine. Also i had a similar problem in the fall and ended up goin to the dealership. They hooked it up to the computer and said the idle was too low. They charged me $170 to fix that little problem so i really dont want to go back.

Does Anyone have ANY ideas?

my car did the same thing 2 times last week. It never did it before, and hasnt done it since the weather warmed up this week. I think it only happens when it is REAL COLD out at night as in NEGATIVE degrees farenheit. Otherwise my car starts up fine. WHat sucks the most for me is that when it gets that cold and I use my remote start the car dies and then theres no point in having remote start.
