Headers aren't bad with the right tools. I think it took me about 5 hours, not rushing. Gear wrenches, swivel joints, and extensions are three helpful tools, other wise you will have busted knuckles. You need to be able to jack the car pretty high too, so jack stands are a must.
If you are only talking about a y-pipe, thats a 45 minute job or less.
I would say headers are not complicated, just time consuming but having the right tools makes all the difference in the world. Took me about... can't remember exactly...10hrs or so over 2 days with some help on part of it. Remove the intake manifold, remove the headers, put the other set on, puttin the intake manifold back on. It is not technically hard, just alot of cramped space and wrench turning.
