Considering Selling My Max on Ebay

I’ve owned my 1998 Maxima SE for 4 years now and it has been the most reliable fun and luxurious car I have ever had. After putting hundreds of hours of work and dollars into exterior, handling and stereo modifications I have enjoyed every minute of it, so, I am disappointed to say I’m selling it, because I need a truck. This is primarily because Maximas can't exactly tow a Wakeboard boat or haul around dirt bikes (not that I’ve tried).

As the title of the thread says; I’m considering listing it on EBay. I have successfully sold numerous things on EBay just never anything as expensive or as complicated as a car and despite how well EBay Motors is doing I’m still unsure if this is the best route to go. What do you guys recommend doing so I can get the best price for the car and easiest sale. Any other suggestions about selling it are welcomed.

If you are interested in the Car let me know and I can answer any questions you may have. Bellow are some recent pictures and basic info.

You can get more pics and info at: http://www.bassmintaudio.com/maxima/web/index.htm

Yeah, that's one clean max. I hope you get what it deserves (money wise), and good luck in finding a replacement.

thats a very nice looking max, but if you are going to sell it on ebay you wont get anywhere near 11,500 for it. there are 00-01s going for less than that on ebay. you'd probably be better off selling it locally. ive sold 2 cars on ebay and they went for quite a bit less than blue book.

How long have you had your Maxima?

To me every car represents a history. And ten years later if you still have that car no matter what condition it was in or how bad some mods you did to it you will still think back at the car's history and how it reflects upon yours. Really precious thing to have really.

sick car, everything is hot.

wish you didnt have to sell cause sadly you wont make the money you'll want on it, unless someone else who likes/want aftermarket parts on their car will buy it.

you should sell the rims and tires and get some stockers and put on, you'll pull alot for thoe evo5s that arent made anymore

I have like 400ish+ feedback on ebay from selling and I actually bought my Max from eBay but i seriously think you could get more here on the org or locally. Tons of ppl in Cali have Maxs' and you should easily be able to sell it.

I just know after listing fees on ebay, fielding numerous questions and having people want you to ship the car you will wish you didn't.

Also you simply won't get as much....ebay is made for cheap items and if you put a pimped out max on their you might not get what you are hoping for.....even though you could set the reserve, if it isn't met, you will be out those listing fees.....

Just my 2c

that is beautiful

if you ever think of selling some of the mods seperately to gain a little more money, i would pay handsomely for your LED tails...........and give you mine in return

I've had it for 4 years now and I love the car especially because all the time and hard work I’ve put into it. I literally have not had a shop do anything. I totally agree with you. It might sound kinda weird but when you sell a car that you've put this much work into (I’ve had to do it once before) It feels like your selling a piece of yourself and it hurts. I have had numerous people tell me that to this day they regret every car they've ever sold and I feel the same way, but, the car is just not function for all the sports I'm into (dirt biking, mountain biking and wakeboarding), and I can't afford two cars while going to school, so, unfortunately its got to go.

I would look at autotrader.com instead of ebay. Personally, I'm scared to buy something like a car off of ebay because in the back of my head I'm thinking I'm gonna have to buy a new engine with it or something. I'd rather go for a test drive and see it in person before laying down thousands of dollars. I used autotrader to buy my max because I can select options ... Mine was 4 door sedan with a manual tranny.

Also, drop the mods as everyone else is saying. The only people that will pay extra on blue book value for car on your mods will be orgers. I highly doubt you'll get anywhere close to 11k for it. If your lucky you might get a little more than 8k if it were stock. I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that would take your rims in a heartbeat as well as your lights.

You've got the best looking white maxima I have ever seen.
