I saw this posted somewhere else but cant remember where. I have a 97 GXE and was wondering if it has the comfort package or if its just bottom of the line. My car is an Automatic, it has Power Windows, Power Locks, Remote Keyless Entry, Power Seats but no BOSE system. Isnt bottom of the line GXE a 5spd? I know the trims go in order from base to best GXE, SE, GLE but I heard someone talking about there are different levels of GXE's too. Or maybe some just came with certain packages. I guess im just tryin to figure out if I have the comfort package or not. Thanks in advance for any help!
Do you know the original tires that came with your car?? If so, then you can figure it out from there. If your tires were S-rated (or somewhere below H rated), then your GXE is base level. If your tire was H rated, then congrats, you had the comfort and convenience package. Some GXEs come with a speed governor. That governor was set because of the tires that came standard with the car. The C&C package also upgraded your tire package.

I have 95 GXE with all your options and cruise control and sunroof, and I was told I have C&C package. I think the power seats and cruise control are what indicates that you have C&C package... But I could be wrong

Maxima97 im the one that posted this earlier. I have cruise and all that stuff you mentioned too. How do I find out what level my tires are. Thanks
hmmm I have power seats & cruise also.....however I'm not sure if I have the bose system (or had) because I now have a Sony CD player which was in there when I bought it. I bought it off a lease return as well so I have no idea what the original tires where. Currently I have some Kumho 265-65-15's.......
Look at the the markings (dunlop/Pirelli etc) on your tire. There will be a marking like;
205/65S/16
or
205/65H/15
Or sometimes even
205/65/16 88H
The H or S indicate the speed rating of your tire. There are quite few other letters. Chances are that you either have a H or lower rated tire.
You can see the specs for the letters here;

205/65S/16

If I remember correctly, the C&C package comes with keyless remote entry / security system, power driver seat, and electric remote trunk release.
I have a plain vanilla 96 SE. I got none of the above...
BTW, first post here!

My GXE was originally bottom of the line, but I bought it for the engine, not the BOSE

easiest way to find out if u had bose or not is check ur front door panels to see if u have tweeters on them...if it does then u have/had bose system on it...or check the speakers to see if it have individual amps on it...Originally posted by Sarah99GXE

Easier than that, look at the rear parcel shelf. If you have the Bose Sound System, the there is a Bose trademark embossed on the grille. BTW, my tweeeter is in the A-Pillar, not the door.

I didn't even think about checking the speakers....I've only had the car for 3 days so I haven't really checked that out

well if u have a gxe then the chances of ur max of having a bose, prior to having the sony, is very unlikely...good chance with se and most def gle....Originally posted by Sarah99GXE
