Bomz Cold Air Intake

Has anyone tried this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33659

Seems surprisingly cheap, and I have heard of BOMZ before just don't know how well they really are. Does this kit not include a lot of the other pieces I need like piping or whatever?

If you have tried this, how good does it perform? How does it compare to the Stillen CAI if you tried the Stillen one also or have driven a Max with it?

Thanks,
Horace

ok, this is how i c it, there isn't anything different about the 2, but i read that its better to stay with the stock setup becuase you don't lose any HP. But then on the other hand you don't get the sound. unless you cut a hole in the air box...i would say save the money and stick with stock and cut some holes...its in the FAQs..ohh ya and get a K&N filter

Why did you get it if you didnt want the noise? thats all they do... (fyi it doesnt kick in until higher throttle ranges.. you won't hear it in everyday driving)

I guess the fact that my muffler is a touch louder than stock could hinder my hearing the intake... but its just a little growl.. and it sounds great at WOT. I guess if you dont want your car to make any noise then you wouldn't want this

ok man u should of been reading the threads before you bought that. its a freaken CAI with a big *ss air filter, wht did you expect, be quieter than stock? secondly, IMOP, its does sound great and unique at WOT, doesn't sound ricey either.
THirdly, most people say don't get the CAI, stock is better ya da ya da da. Despite dyno provin results, i hardly can't notice the rob of low end power some stated and it actually seems my car jerks faster when i floor it compared to stock.

I wouldnt go with Bomz, it looks like cheap material.
i got mine as well for $50 total. why spend $200 or more for the same setup but another brand?

I know I am probably one of the few people that tracks their gas mileage, but I just installed part of the Bomz kit (looks like short ram air right now) and my gas mileage has increased noticeably. Well worth the small price of $50.

Sound is great too. Can finally hear the VQ. Turn up the stereo if you don't want to hear it.

Will install the rest when it stops snowing
