Think my knock sensor needs to be replaced...

I was wondering if maybe i should replace my knock sensor. i dont seem to have the power i used to have, and my millage is absolutly horrible. i did scan the ecu and came up with no codes but im still wondering if it still needs to be replaced. my car is at 115k now, i dont know if it has ever been changed, i have had the car since it had 96k. also im assuming the spark plugs need to be replace. could they be the entire problem?

you could do some kind of test with an ohm meter but i'm not sure exactly how. For the plugs, if its been over 30,000 miles since they were replaced, get new ones.

Check the How-to stickies. There's one that tells how to test the KS and also instructions to change. Otherwise, read the first 5 pages or so. Tons of info there on KS.

Or...disconnect the MAF and start the car. The KS is a goste code so if it bad then the MAF tripping the ecu would bring up the o403. i threw the code many times but mine is still good somehow cuz I ohmed it and it was ok. beats me.

Is it necessary to have the O2 socket set for this? I think someone mentioned that it can me rented at Autozone. Is this true?
