Air intake problems

I put in my cold air intake...but I have a problem. I found yet another sensor on the intake tube towards the bottom end. This sensor has no where to go on the new intake, so i reconnected it and let it dangle more or less. The service engine soon light came on and I dont know what I should do. Drill a hole for the sensor? or not. Or should I just put the bottom end of the stock intake back in so the piece has a place to go and hopefully gets some use. Get back to me soon. Thanks!

Its a bomz. I used the stock piping up to the MAF because I couldnt get it off. But the pipe itself has no place to put it.

I have a hole cut in the pipe and drilled it in there, i am glad I did it to, I went brain dead one day it was pouring out and attempted to get home, hit an area that had quite a bit of water build up and had nowhere to go but straight through it, it sucked up a little water but the sensor shut her down before anything really bad happened, cleaned her out and she was good as new.

somehow I'm thinking that that sensor only detects air temp, doesn't have anything to do with killing your car once it gets water in it. Correct me if I am wrong though ..

I dont know what to do with it, i reconnected the sensor and let it dangle and it did nothing, It was weird, the "service engine" light didnt come on until the second time the car was started with the intake in it. Is there anything else that may be causing the problem, or is it definatly this sensor. thanks again guys.

so basically just drill it in there eh? Nothing else is causing the problem though you think? I dont mean to question you, just making sure.

or instead of this guess and hoping your SES will turn off, pull the codes.. so you know what your problem actually is...
