The How to link is broken...Does anyone know of a step by step to change the rear break pads?

 

1) Take off the wheels
2) Remove the two 14mm bolts that hold the caliper to the slider
3) Pry off the caliper
4) Add in the new pads
5) Now you have to use a special tool to screw in the caliper piston (you can find it at any auto parts store)
6) Slide the caliper over the pads
7) Install the two 14mm bolts
8) Put the wheels backs on an torque down the lugnuts to factory spec

 

Special tool.................. or pin nose plyers!

 

youll never get the pistons back with plyers.. do yourself a favor, spend the $9, and by the tool.. it looks like a cube, with different nubs patterns. u put in on the end of a ratchet, and use it to screw the pistons back..

 

Thanks everyone..about how long does this project take and does anyone have a recomendation for the pads to get?

 

i dont know much about performance pads, but i got semi-metallic with a life time warranty, thats all thats important- save some dough and get whatever's not too expensive.
you def need the "special tool". i didn't know and played around trying to get my brakes back together for 5 hours unitl i called my friend and he hooked it up. longest day of my life

remember to apply a lot of pressure when trying to sping the piston back into the caliper

because that thing will spin forever until you mash it down in there
