Someone Help Pleeez!!!

I got in my car yesterday to go to work and cranked the car up and it was stuttering like it was running 5 cylinders again( happened for a while last summer but went away). So I shut the car off and tried cranking up again and it just turns over and tries to crank but won't. Im pissed and i dont know what to do. Theres a buzzing noise under the hood when keys in on position. Someone help me out im stuck fo real!!

Battery should be fine (Optima Red Top), New alternator not long ago, and i reset the check engine light and it didnt come back on. I got a new fuel filter but am having a biznitch of a time getting to the old one. I think i need to remove some things i dont know and its cold as a biznitch. Thinking also it might be fuel pump. Before this happened when i would crank up the car there would be nasty smell from muffler???

Maybe its a clogged catalytic converter. The rattling could be the ceramic bricks moving around in it.

might be but something under the hood is making the noise. Tell me this im tryin to change the fuel filter, I cut the bejesus outta myself and came back to it and got the top line off and dripped fuel all over the place is this good? Im thinking not. I used like a half a roll of paper towels but still dripped fuel down the black cylinder on the driver side and the axle, will this hurt to crank it up or should i wait?

ummmm.....No

definitely check your coils, sounds like your starter might be shot.....get a 2000 one with better technology(10 teeth) and you will be set for the life of the car

im confused tho, the car turns over and tries to start and its been making that screaaching noise on startup, and it makes it now when trying to crank, I have no clue about this but am trying to get fuel filter in for right now. I checked the coils and thier fine. Also the car acts the same if i have the fuel pump fuse in or not??? Battery is almost dead from trying to start now.

that's because a starter will go out/die over time, very rarely will it just stop working

the starter will give you warning signs its going out such as: turning the key, lights come on but no attempt for engine turnover.....squeeling noise, or even it'll start one time but not again if you turn the car off

its the starter....is what i'm trying to tell you

wait, wait....reading back over your post: If the car's engine attempts to turn over every time you turn the key then your starter is fine

the alt. could be seized up and thats why you are getting screeching and hard to start. I would also check to make sure your crank agle sensor is pluged in to your bell housing(this can also cause the crank but no start problem).

-First I would take it to an advanced auto store and have them check your charging system...sounds like the alt. may be on the way out.

LMAO ive been pushing the gas pedal while trying to start. The alternator is fine its been like 6 months since got a new one and the screeching noise is the starter needing to be regreased. But I caved in and had Maxine Towed to the Auto Repair place. Ill fill yall in on the problem tomorrow when they call me. They gotta task i left the old fuel filter hanging for them and the only other thing i can think of is the fuel pump, but the fuel filter skeeted gas out all over the place so once again im confuzed.

it skeeted gas because you didn't de-pressurize the line

i'll be willing to bet that the reason your car feels like its mis-firing is because you didn't reconnect the filter right

actually i did depressurize the line i took out the fuel pump fuse and tried repeatedly to crank and i even opened gas hatch on side of car. And i didnt disconnect the filter at all while i was trying to crank. also i heard a buzzing noise coming from around the starter when key was in on position, and i get alternator whine thru my speakers and when the key is in on it makes a high pitched noise that goes up or down dont remember.

well there will always be some fuel left in the lines, but as long as you clean most of it up, it really doesn't matter too much for some of it to spill out (don't quote me if your engine catches on fire though!).

And it could still be your starter, even if it is moving, it may not have the ***** to turn the engine over properly. If you didn't notice a difference between when you had the pump fuse off and when you had it on, could have been a blown fuse, or like you said, it could be your fuel pump.
