2001 5th gen flywheel, tranny, clutch in a 96?

I am getting a 2k1 tranny for my 96 max and im also getting a 5th gen clutch, pressure plate and flywheel along with the tranny, i know the tranny and clutch would fit.

1. will the flywheel fit?
2. any benefits to put the 5th gen flywheel?
3. how much does a 5th gen flywheel weight?

fidenza 4 th egn flywheel($330-400) weights about 12-14 lbs stock 28-30 lbs(used $75-120)

I'm certain you are not speaking from experience, because my 4th gen axles fit fine in my 5th gen tranny. He didn't mention AE LSD tranny so he can reuse both axles.

2K+ transmissions have reinforced 2nd, 3rd, and 5th gears.

Actually:
Fidanza= 11 pounds
Stock 4th gen flywheel= 18 pounds
Stock 5.5 and 6th gen 6-speed flywheel = 31 pounds.

The 5th gen flywheel im getting is free, I just paid for the tranny ($850+50shipping) and they threw in the clutch,pp,flywheel from that car w/ 37K miles for free
So im thinking since my car has 167K, ill put a lower mileage flywheel in there....

Do 5th and 4th gen flywheels weight the same?

Do 5th and 4th gen flywheels weight the same?
You best bet would be to a call a nissan dealer and possibly find out the weight difference if it really matters..

If I were you I would use the 5th Flywheel since it does have less miles on it

My set up is 5th Gen tranny, Fidanza flywheel and Exedy clutch

**one thing when you get your car back, your shifter will sit alittle bit farther from from the front...all guys that put 5th tranys in their cars have the same thing...I got used to it

dont need an aftermarket clutch unless your putting down lots of power, also wont last as long. for almost a stock car, a 5th gen OEM clutch will do you more than well, and also will last 100K miles and grips better than the 4th gen OEM.

I my Customaxima short shifter sits way too forward and hits the plastic surrounding in 1,3,5 gears, so im guessing now it will be centered?

i hope, because i have the same short shifter and while racing, it hits the center console and actually cracked it.

Any specific year of 5th gen or it doesn't matter?? Also, would 95-99 fidenza fw work fine with 5th gen clutch?

Thanks
