transmission problem???

my car dies (chokes) when i shift it to any gear...

but after it warms up completely it might jerk but pressing the gas and keeping it from diying it will drive...

while starting to drive it feels like its in second gear....and when stopping it tries to shoke before switching to first gear....

after driving about 20 min it fine and shifts perfect and starts perfect and brakes perfect....

during shifting at any point no problems...even while cold....as long as i can get it driving>>>it will drive...

oh yeah and no codes come up....this is my 4th day suffering because it was weekend.

some say it selenoid, some said sensor, some say trans....anyone had this problem....

sounds like a maf problem. Try jiggling the connector and see if that has any affect on it.

could be fuel filter or a dirty tb too.

also, through some searching, try reading the VIAS TSB.

Check your coolant temperature sensor. Being your having issues when the engine is cold, thats most likely to blame. It's probably still working, just way out of spec which is why your ECU isn't throwing a code. Clean your Throttle Body while your at it.

Values for the coolant temp sensor are as follows:
20f - 1k ohm
40f - .8k ohm
60f - .4k ohm
80f - .2k ohm

If your readings are not around those specs, change that sensor.

what i meant by "choking" wasnt really starving for gas....it basically acts as when an amauture tries to drive "manual" for the first time and throws the clutch to fast without compensating with pressing gas...

...it jerks as it feels it gets into gear but too fast and not enought gas so it will do this like 2-3 times after in gear and die...

also another problem arose....during highway crusing it downshifted by itself as in...it turned off O/D

and on the street cruising of about 30mph it would shift smothly between 2 and 3 gear back and forth as it couldnt locate a proper gear....

--------------
i have had complete tuneup last summer....all filters, belts, sparks/wires, coolent changed.

lucky bastard

Nissan should know better than to lend that car out as a loaner, I'd have so much fun with that beast, they'd definately need new tires when I return with that car
