I do remember something about the speaker dept. www.crutchfield.com has a good chart.

It it my understanding that the Bose system uses a funky impedence with the speaker that will cause problems if a standard speaker is put in. There is at least one amp between the head and the speakers. You might find in less expensive to just replace the entire system than to buy the factory stuff. Crutchfield is a good source. Also, the speakers are actually 6 3/4, there is a difference in the mounting between them and 6.5's.

the bose system cannot just swap the speaker. if you do so with a standard speaker you wont be matched to the proper impedance, as well the bose's have an amplifier built into the standard location ON EACH SPEAKER. it is possible to bypass if you go with a different head unit, but with the stocker check out just a set of bose replacements time to hit the classifieds forum and www.car-parts.com

Also, if you're looking for a good deal on speakers, go to www.pricegrabber.com. They have stuff for literally 1/2 as much as Crutchfield.
