pink fluid sprayed on engine (pics)
I opened my hood to check my oil and noticed this pink fluid like dried up but it looked like it sprayed sort of....well JUST LOOK, i have no idea what it is.
its on top of the radiator and on the valve cover. yesterday it was pink, i just took pictures and the green stuff on top of the radiator was wet, the dried pink stuff is now orange. its sprayed around the windsheild wash fluid container too.
i know its kind of hard to see
if anyone knows what this could be..id appreciate it
im going to buy a new radiator cap just for the hell of it...

i think who ever touched ur tranny needle mus of left a bit loose, and u must of gave the tranny some hell of mph and it got spilled.or some idiot didnt measure fluid right way.the only possible way ur tranny will messed up shifting it liek a v-tec.i would do tranny flush. and see how it does from there.

How does your transmission shift? If it shifts fine I wouldnt worry about breaking your transmission. Just dont do anything crazy like neutral drops.
The pink stuff is either tranny fluid or its Dexcool; Long life Antifreeze that is usually brown but it might be pink in some brands.
If you havent done an auto trans fluid change I srongly suggest you do it now. What happens is that fluid gets old and loses its ability to handle heat. Then the fluid actually boils and comes up the dipstick tube.
Change your fluid. Add a bottle of Lubeguard too. Its a great product. I think they sell it in Autozone as AAMCO transmission additive. Same stuff.
Some of you might not agree with me suggesting Lubeguard. My friend works in a tranny shop and that stuff goes into every rebuilt transmission they do. People have come back much much less after they started using it. I think the only reason my transmission is still together is because of this stuff because of the crazy things I do like drive from Atlanta to Savannah GA doing 100

Sorry I forgot to add something.
You might want to check your radiator too. In fact I think your radiator is broken now that I think about it. The hoses might also be loose and/or brittle.
You have transmission fluid lines that go into the radiator as well. Since you have a coolant and possible ATF leak I'd go ahead and check the radiator hoses and the ATF hoses that go to the radiator.
Once this stuff leaks on to the fan or leaks as you drive, the air flow will make it spew all over the place.

How could the tranny leak upward against gravity? where could it spray out of that wouldnt hit all the intake and lines etc underneath and make it to the top of the block
That is fun. I dont really do a 100 but pretty much never drop below 80mph .

The fluid actually boils inside the transmission and then shoots up the dipstick tube like a volcano due to the pressure. I dont think thats what is going on with this guy because the crap is sprayed all over the motor and not the back firewall.
I-16 is so boring that you cant help but drive at obscene speeds. valentine one makes it less risky but the cops in Dublin are crazy so I usually slow down there.
Where in Savannah are you? I just moved here from NYC for grad school. You can email me at PARedline@aol.com. I'm sure you've seen my car. Its the only I30 I see around here

I forgot he an auto and has a dipstick for his tranny.
I know I-16 is very long and boaring its the longest straight away I've ever driven on, I play keep up with other cars while driving, Me and this Volvo were running about 100 for a little while
I'm in Downtown historical Savannah, I've seen a bunch of I-30s around but I dont think I've seen any modded ones.
What school did you go to?

i found the problem
there is like a couple pin holes, right between whre that rectangular plastic meets the rounded plastic (picture 2) and i pushed the radiator foward and it started streaming out. i bought some plastic sealing stuff but im mostlikely going to replace it
as for the pink fluid...I DONNO?

My friend,
You are leaking coolant AND Auto Trans Fluid apparently from your radiator. These are supposed to be separate circuits within the radiator. Because they are both leaking should tell you there is a problem in both circuits.
If these fluids were to mix somehow inside your radiator and you got Coolant going to your transmission, you can kiss your transmission goodbye.
Do not drive your car until you fix your radiator.
Unless you have $1500-2500 you want to spend. Plus about $150 for a radiator.
Depending on how bad the leak is, if air gets in there and you overheat, you might ruin your head gasket as well.
its not worth it. A radiator is a 2 hour job. Just do it.
