Transmission problem

When shifting into drive (automagic, 155k) I hear a big clunk and a jolt. Almost like I revved up the engine and dropped into gear.. same effect.

Also, when I'm driving I'm having a problem too. When I come to a stop then start going again I have to rev the engine a bit more than normal to get the power transvered to the tranny. It's like im in neutral all the time underneath 2000 rpms. Once over 2k rpms I feel another jolt.. then I start moving

Recently my differential seal went out. When replacing it they found the cause of the seal failure was a bad bushing. I'm suspecting that this clunk caused this.. so i really need to know what this is, I can't affort another tranny pull from the shop. Thanks in advanced..

This started happening to me about a week ago, now I need a new tranny. I would take it in to get it checked out by a mechanic in case that is the problem. it will cost you a whole lot less if you diagnose the problem early before your tranny blows out.

I hope you have better luck than me...

Similar problem on my auto 95 Max with 189k miles on it. When idle, in either D, 2 or 1, I feel multiple jolts or quick shudders, each between 5 seconds from the other. Rev dips to AND the needle constantly moves between 600-700rpm like it is trying to readjust. In P or N, revs smooth out and the shudder stops.

I've had this for quite some time now but the problem got worse after I had the valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals changed last week. However, I found out yesterday that the spark plug o-rings on the rear valve cover tore and was leaking oil into the rear ignition coils.

I've had the seals replaced again today. However, the problem persists. I really hope my tranny is not on it's last leg.

Love my max to death, it brings back the good times I had in college. I'm so distressed with the problem that I'm pretty sure it contributed to (in addition to stress at work!) the hemarrhoids I'm currently having

Any thoughts, anyone? thnx...
