My Check Engine light does not come on when I start my car. How can I tell if its a problem with the computer or if its just the bulb? If it is the bulb, how do i change it? Thanxs.

Does it come on BEFORE you start the car in the "on" position? If not it probably is a bulb which involves removing the instrument panel.

No, it does'nt come on at all. How hard is it to remove the instrument panel, or is it something I should have a professinal do?

If you like/can install stereos and like to mess around with your car, you can do it. It is not hard to do, just involves a few things.

You will need to take the lower panel (below steering wheel and houses fuse panel) out to access some screws (or clips?). I don,t have the car or book so this is all from memory, so forgive me if I miss something.

You also need to remove the upper and lower steering column covers to get clearance to remove the instrument panel.

Then you remove 2 screws that house the instrument panel cover. Look at your gauges and stick your hand as if wanting to touch them. Now above your hand you will need to remove 2 screws that are their. I think after that you can pull it out and the bottom portion is held in with clips. Just tilt your steering wheel down to get the proper clearance to get it out.

Then I believe there are 4 screws to remove to get the gauge cluster out. If there are more screws or you have trouble, check to see if I might have missed something.

Be careful not to screw up your car in doing this. Reason I say once again is this is ALL FROM MEMORY. If something does not seem right, take your time and check to see what is holding you back. Good luck!
